One of my favorite finds is Wine Magic. There are so many online communities on the internet that it’s hard to sift through them all. We found this one and want to tell EVERYONE how fabulous it is! You can see that in the Arts & Entertainment Section.  This an amazing program that literally is a huge savings and quality addition to anyone’s life. Furthermore, it adds so much to our quality of life today and into the future. In addition; it is always fun and entertaining!

From A to Z (in this case T) we cover a broad range.

When I was young, very young, not even a teenager, more than anything, I wanted to be a forest ranger. Now? What do I mean when I say I’m going to dream bigger? Being an adult has changed my life view of my plan for being an adult. Most of my life I’ve spent just being grateful to pay the bills from month to month. I dreamed of a job where I had a little money and time left over to enjoy myself. And I have fulfilled that dream, sometimes I’ve been able to make it, other times, not so much. I haven’t lost sight of my dream no matter what.

How do you do that?

Finding out I had cancer made me look at my life’s ambition as more important. We made a vision board, full of fun things we wanted around us. Animals, a cabin in the woods, and a big truck pulling a large camper. Around the edges, I added other things, books, puppies, our truck, and a trailer following a road into the mountains.

Yeah, you guessed it, the farther away from civilization the happier we are. But that wasn’t enough. It was personal and things we wanted, but not answering my real question. “If I had all the money in the world and could buy and do for anyone and never run out of money. Where would I start?”

Where do I start?

I thought of all the things surrounding my small sphere of existence that I would love to change. Homeless people. Stray dogs. Indigent homeless natives, living in houses made of sheet metal with no blankets or warm clothes.

I remember once, years ago, when a commercial played about a reservation in North Dakota. A small child, maybe three years old, was standing out in the snow. Wearing only a sweater, a skirt, and rubber boots, the snow was blowing her hair everywhere. Her cheeks were pink, her eyes bright in the cold.

Beside her was a large dog, the reservation had a growing population of strays and neither the dogs nor the residents had the money for food, clothing, or heat. I have never forgotten that scene. Over the years my husband, Chad, and I have donated things from handcrafted quilts, blankets, warm clothes, and toys. While I thought of this commercial I realized that I never stopped wanting to make this horrible situation disappear.

To supply materials to make houses that didn’t have cracks wide enough to almost walk through. Electricity to power a stove and refrigerator, clothes that fit and kept them warm in the winter or cool in the summer. Enough food to allow the family to eat their fill, not have to eat sparingly, everyone just eating a few bites.

THINKING FURTHER

We will buy a place to house all the stray dogs that have no one to love them, and a huge house for the orphans. Like the book from my childhood, Little Women, and the other one, Little Men. A place where everyone knew they were wanted and loved. And they have enough money to take care of them without ever feeling like they were a burden. My daddy was a foster child, too. Over the years I’ve run into a lot of children who were in the system. I would give anything to make them feel like they were loved and cared for. The dogs are the same way, all they want is a place to be loved, fed, kept warm, and kept safe.

I want to be able to do that. Right now, I don’t have enough money to do much to help anyone other than ourselves, but we contribute when we can. Every month, we give something, even if it’s just a few blankets we made to the animal shelter or to the foster children, just to let them know someone out in the world DOES care.

In my dream, we’re making millions of dollars a year and have helped not only our family, but hundreds of others live their dream as well. And it’s not just about the money, it’s really more about the freedom. I personally want to not have to report to someone and explain what I’ve been doing with my time.

I’ve worked for thirty years as a nurse. I’m still making the same amount of money as I have been for the last ten years. My biggest dream is to be able to work as a nurse when I feel like it and not worry about whether I’m going to be terminated for unapproved absences due to a terminal illness. Or take a day off just because I feel like it. Not being able to have the time off to handle personal emergencies because I either won’t get paid for it or because they don’t allow it, has long been a thorn in my side.

Oddly enough, after I wrote this the first time, two days later I was encouraged to quit my job and take care of myself. Bear in mind I have only this system and no other resources to pay bills, pay for medicine, or anything else. But I felt like this was an omen. So I quit my job. I’m petrified that I will be homeless. And my husband won’t have any way to take care of us, and our five rescue dogs. So decided to work this system to the bone. This will give us the time and opportunity to help ourselves and others reach a goal.

This happened one week ago. I still have cancer, and the outcome is never a sure thing. I believe that a Greater Power sent me down this road. You know my Dream, I’ll let you know how it works out.
